Synopsis
Philip and Daniel are childhood friends. Both born in 1981, they discover the liberating power of alcohol at around 15. While intoxicated, they create music and movies; sessions that they refer to as ''regressions''. By 26, Philip is a full-blown alcoholic. To help, Daniel suggests a 40-day and 40-night pilgrimage in ES. Stone. Cold. Sober. Directed by Daniel Ducheck, and interwoven with clips from their early ''works'', 1981 Regressionists chronicles the different stages of this cathartic and existential voyage, keeps tabs on this remarkable tale of male friendship, and questions the what is of creativity.
