Responding to a challenge made by the first Lisbon Architecture Trienal, director Edgar Pêra's latest film shows us four important architectural events that “projected” Portugal into Europe: Belém's Cultural Centre – where 14 years ago Portugal first presided over the EEC; Parque das Nações – where Expo 98 took place; (10) Football Stadiums – built for Euro 2004; and Casa da Música – an original design created for Oporto, European Capital of Culture 2001. Using archived images and music by Nel Monteiro, "Arquitectura de Peso" is the result of the meeting of a "time of antenna pop music" with a propaganda documentary on architecture of the State.
