Synopsis
Another chapter is being added to Jerusalem’s archeological history, a dig that might determine the future division of Jerusalem. The scene is the Arabic neighborhood of Silwan in East Jerusalem. Archeologist have found what they think is King David’s palace. Over the last few years the site, managed by the private organization Elad, has been turned into one of Jerusalem’s most popular tourist sites. The Elad foundation is being led by the former military officer David Be’eri, a man many would see as an extreme right wing settler. His goal is to bring back Jews to this very sensitive part of Jerusalem. The movie presents a hidden aspect of archeology and shows that in the context of the Israeli-Arab conflict, archeology plays sometimes a political role.
