In 1972, Luís Wittnich Carrisso, a botanist and professor at The University of Coimbra, leaves for Angola, to study the flora and gather plants for Coimbra’s Herbarium. In 1937, he dies in the Namib Desert. Roughly 80 years later, we retrace his journey.
