Synopsis
Some say that in 1939, when the new line of the Lithuanian-Belarusian border was drawn at a meeting at the Kremlin, Stalin’s pipe was accidentally left on the map. No one dared to touch it, so much so that the new border was drawn around it. This is how the Dieveniskes region was formed, squeezed into the Belarusian territory. In December 2007, Lithuania became a part of Europe. Result: on one side you have families who live in Lithuania and on the other side you have their neighboring parents who live in Belarus. The drama is not so much the separation of the villages as it is the splitting of a larger culture – men, families, neighboring parents. What interests me, is talking about what people live in the moment, about the influence of this separation and social and economic pressure on these beings. In summary, this project is a vast search into human solitude and the forms one must sculpt in time in order to express it.
