Synopsis
BEIJING BASTARDS is regarded as China's first independent film, hunted down and officially boycotted and banned. The taboo theme centers on the youth of Beijing, combining reality, fantasy, and reminiscences of a disillusioned generation. The film revolves around Cui Jian, a rock idol. After a woman attempts suicide for no apparent reason, several friends are moved to help her. In this task, the spectator sees different cultures within the city. Cui Jian, the rocker, tries to organize a concert and is prevented from doing so. A group of artists perform in the streets.
