Synopsis
Naiel moved to Sweden from Syria when he was 8 years old. He was bullied in his new school in the outskirts of Stockholm, but solved his problems by following one classmate on the way home from school every day, to beat him up. Soon, Naiel ruled his class. Naiel and a friend started committing crimes together and by 3rd grade, the boys had shared economy and joint bank account. Their common goal was to ”make enough money to be able to eat pizza and hamburger every day”. That was the beginning of Naiel’s criminal path. Naiel knew his lifestyle was wrong, but couldn’t break away. But during a very violent showdown, Naiel suddenly felt like he was stopped by a higher power. He felt he should love people instead of hating them. That became a turning point in his life. Together with Khole, a friend from his old life, Naiel starts a roofing company., One of the people they hire is Uldis, a young man originally from Latvia. When Uldis joins the roofing company, a deep friendship between the three form. Naiel and Uldis go on a trip to Latvia where they visit the tough Latvian prisons where Uldis once did time. On this trip, Naiel speaks at a number of institutions, where he shares his story and encourages the inmates not to give up.
