Synopsis
Paola has made up her mind. She’s been gathering courage since she was a little girl and now she is finally ready to take that step. Her mom has been determining in her decision: “You have to go back to Taiwan because that is where your father is”., Shih follows the return of Paola Shih, a young Taiwanese-Venezuelan woman, to Taipei to meet with her father Jimmy after twenty years of separation. Depicted by a very intimate camera -operated by her boyfriend Rafael and best friend Bruno-, the film becomes a witness of the first moments of the reunion. As it follows Paola in the remaking of the relationship with her father and re-adaptation to the taiwanese culture, it grasps the struggle in their attempt to recover the lost time. But as days go by and the bond between them strengthens, Paola will find out the truth about the past, the deep loneliness that Jimmy experienced and the big disgrace brought to his taiwanese family for not being able to take care of his wife and daughter.
