Synopsis
Nueva Esperanza in Colombia is a village where 680 peasant farmers have taken refuge. Overnight they had to leave their fields, their houses and their loved ones, who had been tortured and murdered by the guerrilla’s henchmen, the paramilitary and sometimes the soldiers of the State. Tacacho brings together the reconstitutions of true narratives, staged and played by the peasants themselves, with the help of the film’s crew. Rarely do films within a film give such authenticity to characters whose dignity and resilience form the basis of their hope of a new life.
