One million people around the world commit suicide each year. A terrible figure barely reflected in the media however. Families and friends of those who ended with their lives live their pain in loneliness, surrounded by stigma and feelings of guilt and shame. “It’s something very intimate, a secret you don’t want anybody to know about”. Survivors is a documentary in which the voices of relatives of people who committed suicide and of those who failed in their attempts rise against the taboo that still surrounds suicide.
