“Operación Palace” is a fake documentary about the 23-F, the attempted coup d'état in Spain that began on 23 February 1981 and ended on the following day. Using a very unusual genre, the mockumentary, the Spanish journalist Jordi Évole used the documentary language to make an ironic critique of what was this historic event that marked the start of the Spanish democracy. “Operación Palace” not only wants to tell another story about the 23-f, but also reflect the lack of access to historical documentation in Spain.
