This is the story of a prison guard, a prisoner and a University teacher sharing a classroom for one year inside a high security prison., The CUSAM is an educational center located inside prison no.48 in Buenos Aires-Argentina. This prison has about 600 inmates and holds a reputation of violence and corruption. A sociology career is being taught there Since 2009. What is new about this university inside a jail, is that in their classrooms prisoners and guards study on equal terms as classmates., 13 doors looks at the transforming power of education inside this paradoxical world where you can find a group of inmates talking to prison guards about Saussure and Fucault. They will have to put their differences aside and join forces to pass the academic year and also to defend their right to education in a place where the presence of a Univesity is a finger in the wound of the corrupted system.
