Synopsis
Alexandr-Oshevensky monastery was founded in the 15th Century, but was destroyed and robbed in the Soviet times. One of the walls is dismantled, the temple has burned, the brotherhood was cast away or shot., A few yeas ago the process of monastery's revival took place. A superior, a monk, and several workers came to this remote place and currently restore this shrine., There are three main characters in this film: Alexey — a disabled person, having experienced a heart attack, 42 years old, Georgy - an orphan, wandering from one monastery to another, Mikhail - a robber who became a believer. All these find the shelter in here during the hard times in their lives. Not everybody, however, would be able to accept peacefully new style of life and difficult living conditions. An important choice has to be taken by each of these characters: to stay there or to return back to the world?, The film's narrative is constructed by demonstration of one day in the monastery.
