Synopsis
The character of the documentary A Few days of Life of a Russian-American is a former Soviet dissident, Russian-speaking New York radio-host, Seva Kaplan., Seva jumps of a plane with a parachute, plays tennis, runs the mountain trails, fights in Mixed Martial Arts, plays in local theater, etc. Besides that, Seva hosts morning radio show, develops marketing campaigns, promotes local politicians throughout elections, does a weekly TV show, not to mention that he is married and raises two kids., We spent a few days together, witnessing our hero in different situations. The shooting occurred in his home, radio office and main studios during live talk show. The documentary’s director became a part of the show communicating with the host and audience., We discussed what is life of the Russian-Americans all about, talked about the “national character” and differences between Russian and American mentalities., We spoke about Seva’s dissident past, met of his family, friends, colleagues and partners.
