Synopsis
15-year-old Michał, fascinated by photography, meets Tadeusz Rolke (82), nestor of Polish photojournalism. Rolke helps Michał to buy a camera, set up a darkroom in his house, gives him his first photographic tasks. Slowly they become close friends. In the summer they set up a darkroom in a car and start a one month photographic trip filled with meeting people, adventures, and long conversations. On many levels it will be a story about: 1. The magic of photography and the photographic process, around which the story will be built (from buying a camera to an exhibition in New York). But it will only be an excuse to learn more about the characters. 2. The universal and important need of every human being for creativity, and how it affects our life., When Michał masters all the technical skills of photo shooting, conversations and photo tasks will begin to relate to the philosophy of photography and creativity in general. 3. A budding friendship, a master-student relationship, the clash of old and new values, the adolescence and the obsolescence.
