Synopsis
The icy look of old Soviet statues, surrounded by gunfire and screams, symbols of oppression and invasion of Lithuania, are a frightening reminder of a deadly past., A woman recalls those years, her name is Magdalena. She is twelve, she runs towards a window, she runs in the snow poorly dressed, chased by Soviet soldiers. She goes and lives in the woods with the partisans for years, having no news of her family, deported to Siberia., The partisans have relatives and friends in the villages. The partisans know that any connection with them would put the lives of their beloved in danger. But, instead of destroying letters and photographs, they prefer to hide them, keeping alive the dream of independence and freedom. They put everything in bottles and bury them in the ground. Sixty years have passed, and Magdalena returns to the places where she hid from the invaders, where once she dug a hole beneath a tree burying a bottle full of memories that she hopes now to bring alive.
