This is a story about RELIGION, LOVE and SM. In Sendai., In that winter of the year 2011 When the catastrophe befell Tohoku in Japan., There arose a fire, in a small house., By arson., I found a keyword the suspect left., A doll., It smelled the sea., What the suspect tried to say leaving the doll?, A curse? I don't know. A few months before the incident., Ninagawa left for Tohoku by himself., Near the sea he tried to find stations, schools, and arcades which had once been on the map, only in vain., He came back, with a decision. He was to build a new guesthouse for volunteers, in Sendai. In Kyoto., In his guesthouse., There had been a girl., She was just there. For months., She called herself an artist. She caused troubles by her bizarre words and actions, driving people to panic., So, Ninagawa tried to DISCIPLINE her by SM to BE HIS SLAVE., Fiercely for three days and nights, she resisted. And finally she got NAKED. Then Ninagawa took her to the devastated area in Tohoku, where his new guesthouse was being built., A week later,, His new guesthouse for volunteers got enveloped in flames. In that year, in Japan., I witnessed so many deaths and got possessed by a question:, DO I DESERVE TO EAT?, And I felt like asking my producer Ninagawa with whom I’d been making documentaries for 6 years WHAT DOES HE THINK ABOUT IT.
