Synopsis
The director and choreographer Cisco Aznar is an enfant terrible of the European dance scene. With the students of the world-famous ballet school of Maurice Béjart he is staging the classic „The Rite of Spring“ by Igor Stravinsky in Lausanne. In preparation for the piece, in which a young girl dances herself to death in a heathen ritual, Cisco is partaking in African-American rituals in the hinterland of Brazil. He is exposing himself to ceremonies with animal sacrifices and is looking for inspiration in trance dances., Will he be able to imprint his own signature to the ballet classic, which has inspired generations of choreographers? And will he succeed in conveying the difficult and impulsive choreography to the 36 young dancers?
