Synopsis
Juan is a Kurdish boy. When he was young he has been arrested and tortured by Turkish police as the government suspected him to be an agent of the PKK, a radical political party. He left Turkey and he’s been living for nine years as a refugee, in France. He now lives in Paris where he works as a waiter and cultivates his passions: theatre and dance. Recently Juan received unexpected news: his naturalization was successful. Protected by his French citizenship he will be able to set foot in Turkey for the first time in ten years. The documentary follows his return to his hometown Kerboran. Juan will celebrate the Kurdish New Year’s eve and will renew contact with his family and friends in a disturbing journey in the footsteps of his past.
