Greek people don't work., Greek people are lazy. The same is often said about the Portuguese, the Italians and the Spanish. According to the neoliberal world, these countries are PIGS. Such are some of the phrases I encounter as I prepare my first trip and informal shoot in Greece. So I decided to film people working. But the film, Greek People Don't Work, goes way beyond this. On the edge between documentary and art video, this musical film takes militant look at Europe in the beginning of the 21st century and affirms our great need of poetry in the face of the political turmoil that surrounds us.
