Synopsis
A 15 minute documentary following two performers of a struggling independent wrestling promotion. We explore the impact that their vocation has on their personal lives, and the psychology behind why audiences are drawn to this pseudo-bloodsport. The characters are iconic, yet real: Nizar, the Muslim immigrant that wants to integrate, and the rural redneck that wants to cut loose. These are real people with real emotions. Nizar’s father will overcome his distaste for what he sees as an embarrassing and racist portrayal of his culture and come to see his son perform.
