Synopsis
In 2013, apartments in central Beijing reached the price of $10,000 per square meter. That is four times more than during the Beijing Olympics of 2008, leading the Chinese capital to overtake Tokyo, London and New York as the city with the highest rent in the world (source: IMF). Five years after “One World, One Dream” people scurry off to the suburbs for a peaceful abode. As a result Tongzhou is developing into a sub-center 20 km from downtown Beijing. In this location a vast array of human emotions unfolds: the mad, the rude, the good, the evil, the strong, the wise... that's you, that's me.
