Synopsis
Beyond a vast amount of writings, Portuguese writer Maria Gabriela Llansol (1931-2008) has left, as her estate, more than 2000 photographs. This film uses one of them as a starting point, attracted by the notes on its back which say: Meeting with São João da Cruz”. The photograph dates back to the beginning of writing “The Book of Communities”, considered to be a ’sourcebook’ by Llansol. The photo makes us see the act of reading as the possibility of an encounter and allows a glimpse into the creation of one of the founding figures of Llansol’s writing.
