Synopsis
Don Quixote armed with a ukulele - Eitan Ullman, a mysterious protest singer, embarks on a musical quest to defend authentic Israeli culture against the twin ravages of consumerism and popularism. With a spontaneous cast of musicians and self-deprecating humour, Ullman’s voyage across the Israeli landscape culminates in a grand concert at the ancient site of Masada.
Through the journey, Ullman’s dream of bringing about great change with his musical message begins to crack. Has he been tilting at windmills? McDonald Masada is an understated and insightful observation of contemporary Israeli society and ultimately, a story about a modern troubadour, searching for his voice.
