The documentary shows the past and the present of traditional fishing in Sicily following Filippo Castro, model builder of traditional boats, and the small fishing community of Terrasini, among the last to practice small-scale fishing using traditional methods, such as the “lampara”, the harpoon and the purse seine. La memoria del mare shows what the fishing has been and still is in the sicilian economy and culture.
