Philippe Hosiasson - Perspectives on the work
Director David Grinberg
Countries France
Duration 60 min
Synopsis
Starting from Odessa, his hometown, through Florence, New York, where he was exposed along with Rothko and Motherwell, Paris, and the South of France, the film is going on the trail of the Ukrainian-French painter Philippe Hosiasson (1898-1978) and the places that accounted for his gaze. By exploring some iconic paintings, it's also looking for his gestures, revealing the many "paths" borrowed by his work, from figuration to the shores of abstraction.
