Synopsis
The farm has been owned and run by ten generations of the Kienle family since 1725. As he approaches his 30th birthday, the time has come for Philipp to take over from his father Konrad. But Philipp knows that time is running out for the farm. Without investment in machinery, the farm cannot keep up with falling prices of meat, maize and milk but how can he buy new machinery if the bank will not give him a loan? The family is held together by tradition, but the backbreaking work brings Philipp scant reward. Like his girlfriend Manuela, who prefers art to agriculture, Philipp is faced with a difficult choice.
