Synopsis
Past Their Prime is a half-hour documentary that delves into the world of Colo—the oldest-living gorilla in captivity—and her keepers as they care for her in preparation of her 55th birthday celebration. And through Colo’s care we will meet several keepers at the Columbus Zoo in Ohio and learn about other geriatric animals and the creative ways of which keepers care for them in their old age. Be it arthritis, heart disease, decaying dental health, or loss of eyesight, we will see that animals and humans have a lot in common when faced with mortality and aging.
