This story took place in a western city of China—Xi'an, which had been the capital of the ancient empire for more than ten dynasties. Four years ago, it was the start when the city constructed greatly towards internationalization. The film records two different groups—the tramps on the streets and the people who believe in God. Wang Huan, a 17 year-old boy, whose survival circumstance is the main narrative clue of the film, wandering between the two different groups. Particularly, this film exposes the public's living conditions and their irresistible fates and tragedies. Four years later, when the film is completed, an international city has shaped, everything has changed, and almost all the tramps are gone.
