The village of Montaretto nestles in a pine forest on the cliffs of the it Riviera. At first sight, it seems to be a village like any other. But appearances are deceptive, because Montaretto enjoys a proud reputation as the last bastion of communism. For northern IT's leftist scene, this little village has gained near-mythological status. Montaretto brings to mind the "little Gallic village" from the famous comic strip, where people ignore the political edicts of the Roman government and live a life of cheerful and stubborn originality.
