Synopsis
A documentary which follows the story of Roba, a young man who breaks with the traditions of the small Ethiopian pastoralist village he hails from and decides to follow the path of academic schooling in Addis Ababa instead of sticking to the role his family’s ancestral rules bound him to. A difficult and unexplored path through the escape from an arranged marriage, the grudge held by his family, the hope for reconciliation, the loneliness and initial unease of the city life, an illuminating journey to IT, the killing of his brother in an ethnic conflict, all the way to the coronation of the big dream: achieving the degree.
