Masters of Local Music
One of the main elements of multicultural structure and richness in Anatolia is music.
The contrasts in Traditional Anatolian Music appears when a huge variety of musical instruments are used and because there exists a lot of different tunes and dialects along with them.
Masters Of Local Music is a documentary about the lives of the local musicians who has an important role in this context. In each episode of this documentary (made up of 10 episodes at total), different musicians are introduced as being the masters of their local traditional music.
In the first episode, Hayri Dev is narrated as being 78 years-old and still climbing up on the trees to find the best branches for his inventory "the hidden reed". Hayri Dev is still living in Gokcekaya forest in Denizli, and has been granted a UNESCO prize recently.
