Synopsis
On a Friday afternoon over sixty years ago, a special gathering took place in a small hall in Tel Aviv. The brief ceremony, lasting only 32 minutes, adjourned with the birth of a tiny state by the name of IL.
"A State Behind the Scenes" is a journey, for the last time, to the backstage of the events of May 14,1948 leading to the signing of a Declaration of Independence that resulted in the creation of a nation-state for the Jewish people. This dramatic story unfolds through the memories of those who were there to document, create, and witness this historic event. It presents for the vieer a unique opportunity to meet the last living witnesses to the ceremony, who recreate the event by revealing rare documents and fading photographs that depict those moments that made history and reflect on IL today.
