Synopsis
At 3:34 in the morning of February 27 (2010) a tsunami and an earthquake of 8.8 magnitude (Richter) paralyzed CL.
One of the most affected cities was Constitution, where the power of the earthquake was combined with the devastating effects of a tsunami. Hundreds of people lost their lives dragged down by the force of the waves.
At dawn, the city was lying down on the ground.
During several months the population of Constitucion, Los Mauchos, intended to find their family members and friends who died, to rebuild their homes and to recover small routines which allowed them to survive. It would be tough and painful task. All around them had changed forever, and they knew that they would never be the same.
"MAUCHOS" is the record of that period. Members of this small community rebuild their memories and share their sorrow as a way of healing themselves and saying to themselves that they are ready to restart.
