Synopsis
In the Jewish State of IL, there are living over a million Arabs with ILi passports. They are considered second class citizens and are shunned and discriminated against by the Jewish majority. Six 18-year-old ILi Jews and Arabs want to set an example: In the fall of 2007 they move in together in a small apartment and form the commune Nemashim. For a year they want to practise a way of life in which in this country no one seems to believe anymore: A peaceful coexistence – on stage and in everyday life. David Vogel has attended the commune with the camera. He shows the euphoric creation of a tight clique, who is accompanied by the hope of being a model for peaceful co-existence. But the conflict between Jews and Arabs penetrates the daily life of the "Kommuna" more and more. With the marching orders of the Isreali army at the end of this year, the certainty that their carefree youthful days are numbered overshadows their daily life.
