“I’ve always believed in simplicity, in intuition, in going with the flow, in loving… You can be highly successful… but that is what you can never believe in. You have never conquered perfection; it’s impossible. And perhaps it’s much more fun this way.” This is what Victoria de los Angeles, one of the most prominent Spanish sopranos of the 20th century, was like. Her life was spent on stages all over the world, from La Scala in Milan to the Metropolitan Opera House in NY. Throughout 60’, the documentary team takes the spectator on a journey to discover the hidden miscellany under the trunks’ patina of dust: footage shot by Victoria herself in the 50s, personal diaries & a potpourri of objects that help to construct a unique portrait of Victoria. Some of her colleagues from the stage are added to this fascinating voyage through her life, such as Luigi Alva, Rafael Frühbeck, Manuel GarciaMorante, as well as admirers, critics and figures from the lyric scene, such as Plácio Domingo.
