Joaquín Escuder - It's all strokes
Director Jean-Marc Chouvel
Countries France, Spain
Duration 88 min
Synopsis
The
Spanish painter Joaquín Escuder produces a series of paintings on paper
in a workshop of the south-west FR. This is an opportunity for
reflection on painting, look, and the musical imagination that may be
associated to them.
By delivering a testimony of his reflection on the act of painting
Joaquín Escuder allows us to understand how, from a capture of reality
and its strength, a minimum material may give rise to a whole universe.
The motion picture follows, in complicity with a music that is also
minimal, the elements of this vision. Throughout the film, the "brush
stroke" is the main character of a space writing that converts itself
into an incredible ballet of sound colors and gestures.
