In the icy cold winter night, a security guard feeds a duck that has strayed onto an industrial site. A night wanderer flees from his restlessness, out into the moonlit night. A homeless man searches for a dry place to sleep, protected from the driving snow. Night shifts shows people in Berlin who are invisble during the day and have chosen the night for their existence.
