Synopsis
The troubled history of the scrap merchants in Palermo, that have been recycling rubbish for generations. Since the 1950’s they have been working in the city landfill, where they have been rummaging through the rubbish to find materials that could be resold. After they had been denied access over there, they came to the city, with their ‘Ape’ vans, collecting card board, iron, clothes, utensils and assorted things. Through the recycle, they managed for years to provide for 400 families offering at the same time a good ecological service. Today they aren’t allowed to continue their business...
