Synopsis
This is the story of Pino Leto, a boxer from the Vucciria neighbourhood in Palermo. After a childhood of hardship and suffering, marked by the potential for violence and humiliation found in a big city, like Palermo in the 1970s, he managed through sheer determination, a desire for redemption, and a passion for boxing, to establish himself as one of IT’s best boxers, eventually becoming the European light-middleeight champion. While working as a bank guard, he was attacked by two youths during an attempted robbery. The event left him with a long scar on his cheek and the death of one of the robbers on his conscience. This tragic event would forever stay with Pino Leto, leading him to dedicate his time and energy to keeping youngsters from the Vucciria off the streets.
