Duration 58 min
Synopsis
Following the diary written by Silvio Boldrini during the Klondike gold rush of 1898, the geologist Sandro Frizzi travels from Vancouver to Dawson City in the Yukon Territory (CA). Like every Summer he joins his companions to work as a prospector, a modern goldseeker: there’s Ljubo, the sr writer and goldprospector, there’s Max, the ru student of philosophy who loves nature and adventures, and there’s Tim, the Canadian geologist who is an Anglican lay minister. In Dawson City, the town where nobody locks the front door, they meet miners, trappers, prospectors and all-year-residents, accompanied by the voice off reading the Boldrini diary and following the old techniques of gold digging and clean-up. Past and present intersect, interact, and everybody seems to follow the Klondike’s calling, looking for gold and finding freedom and respect. “There is a certain pride in trusting other people and people in the Yukon are free from being afraid of others around”.
