LOW INCOME
Director Vincent FERTEY
Countries Morocco
Duration 27 min
Synopsis
The documentary film Low Income aims to portray a hidden side of American society through four personal testimonies from people who work or live in the Cadillac Hotel, a hotel of the Tenderloin district in San Francisco. In this poor and neglected neighborhood of the so-called Golden city, the streets are full of “SRO Hotels” or “Single Room Occupancy Hotels”. These hotels gather people from all corners of the world and walks of life: former homeless people, mentally ill persons, retired people, illegal workers or American citizens with low incomes. Vincent Fertey wanted to let them talk about their lives and about the concept of "American dream" today.
