Everlasting sorrow, life after the death penalty
Director David André
Countries France
Duration 81 min
Synopsis
In 1999, Sean Sellers, sentenced to death at 16, was executed in Oklahoma at 29. A few days before, the director filmed him on death row. He also met the victims’ families at the clemency hearing, claiming for justice. 10 years after, the director returns to Oklahoma in search of the protagonists he filmed, with one question in mind: does the death penalty really provide healing or does it act as a poison ? The prosecutor admits his failure, the executioners are haunted by their memories, the victims’ families are torn between shame, hatred and their sorrow still intact.
