Synopsis
1971, Rio de Janeiro’s Museum of Modern Art. Between January and July, the last Sunday of every month entered into the history of BRian art and culture as the “Sundays of Creation”. Many artists performed events related to materials like paper, earth, tissue, body, sound. Every memory, however, can and must be reactivated. Rejecting any re-taken or re-vision, removing the stale of a nostalgic visit to the past and accepting the inability to reacreate those Sundays as they were made, the series “New Sundays”, made in October, 2010, suggests a link between memory and the events of 1971 with new opportunities for artists and people gather around a creative impulse. "Art / Sunday" is an attempt to reproduce as closely as possible the feel of the experiments proposed there by the artists. Artists such as Cildo Meireles, Paulo Vivacqua and Isabela Sa Roriz meet with grown ups and children to interact with different colors, textures and sounds.
