Synopsis
“My Friend Sam” is about an extraordinary man – Sam Frears (son of film director Stephen Frears), who was born with an extremely rare genetic disorder which gave him a diminished life expectancy. But Sam has survived despite enormous obstacles – compromised nervous system, failing eyesight and difficulty swallowing liquids. And his life is anything but ordinary. Sam is lonely and like all of us, he is looking for love. The filmmakers follow Sam everywhere as he struggles with everyday life while pursuing an acting career and finding a girlfriend.
