Synopsis
Other Women’s Narratives is a collaborative creative documentary. A journey to the inconspicuous aspects of life of three women, who live in GR the last 15-20 years: Aferdita Çako and Manjola Milla from Albania and Svetlana Blakhina from BY. A name, a job, a family celebration and a daily city walk downtown become extraordinary vehicles of deeper personal insight, while subtly touching issues of immigration, foreignness, flux of identities and the idea of being one "other", a "stranger". What is exceptional though about this work, is that women participated in the whole production process and their narratives are visualized with images shot by themselves. This practice was inspired from participatory video disciplines and in overall it stimulated in them a more personal and active involvement in the documentary making process which, was director’s aim from the beginning of this work.
