In this documentary film, Pierre Léon draws the intimate portrait of a friend, Jean-Claude Biette, a major although often forgotten fr filmmaker. In the film, Pierre Léon shows many excerpts of Biette's films as well as exclusive private footage on his sets where we discover Biette at work, in his quiet, kind and concentrated way. But most of all, his fascinating personality appears through the testimony of friends who worked with him and who misses him: actors (Jeanne Balibar, Micheline Presle, Mathieu Amalric, Luis Miguel Cintra...), directors (Manoel De Oliveira, Adolfo Arrieta, Paul Vecchiali, Jean Paul Civeyrac, Serge Bozon...), critics (Bernard Eisenschitz, Sylvie Pierre, Jean Narboni...). While portraying Biette, Pierre Léon builds also an original and unknown landscape of European auteur cinema from the 60s to nowadays, between Paris, Lisbon and Rome.
