SALECINA - from world revolution to alpine guesthouse?
Director Rahel Holenstein, Reto Padrutt
Countries Switzerland
Duration 53 min
Synopsis
The Salecina Meeting Center near Maloja, founded in 1971 by Theo Pinkus, bookseller and socialist from Zurich, soon became the socio-cultural and political mecca of the leftist intelligentsia. While the film is a tour dhorizon through the chronicles of the alpine think tank, it also reveals the changing zeitgeist since the late sixties. Furthermore, it is an endearingly emotional, self-deprecating homage to three generations of women and men influenced by Salecina, all of whom develop utopias for a just world at 1800 metres above sea level.
