In BE, Article 9ter of the Act of 15 December 1980 allows a foreigner to apply for a residence permit, if he suffers from an illness causing a real risk to his life. For many undocumented, this article is the only access to legal status. In Brussels, in March 2009, over 1000 people decided to start a hunger strike. This film takes us to the extraordinary men and women who, prisoners of this situation, are faced with the choice of putting their lives at risk to get these papers, or not.
