Synopsis
Made in collaboration with a Roma family living in slums in the fr city of Montpellier, Tiers-Paysage questions marginal places and their inhabitants. Three generations of women weave their lifestory while, behind the precarious sheds, cranes are extending the city. Veta, Utsa and Michela narrate their story in their own words, their own voice, and the film is the tale of their life - through FR and RO.
The original approach comes from the association of a movie director trained in the Beaux-Arts, and a sociologist specialized on disenfranchized populations. Immersed during more than a year in the daily life of the family, they attempted at offering a vision from the grassroots of the burning political issue of Roma people in Europe.
Third landscape refers to third-estate (and not to third-world). A space which does not express power nor submission to power. (Gilles Clément, Manifeste du Tiers paysage).
